Advice & Benefits for Older People
Keeping your family warm this winter

The Home Heat Helpline welcomes calls from concerned third parties calling on behalf of a client, relative or friend.

So if you are a health or social worker or carer, housing representative, Citizens Advice Bureau advisor, or other voluntary sector organisations representative, then give us a call and find out how the Home Heat Helpline can help.

A dripping hot water tap wastes energy and in one week wastes enough hot water to fill half a bath, so fix leaking taps and make sure they're fully turned off.

The Helpline is staffed by trained advisors who can carry out a preliminary assessment of callers’ benefit entitlement. They are also linked to each energy suppliers' priority care team.

The Helpline advisers also have access to community-based organisations. These organisations provide social welfare support on a number of matters including housing, health and finance.

If you would like to receive some information on the Home Heat Helpline to give to someone you know, please call 0800 33 66 99 and one of our advisors will send the information in the post.
